Okay folks, I’ve had it.
We have had this site online since 2001 and seen marginal activity at best. I’m tired of this lack of interest. If we can’t be recognized as a classy, quality content site… then fine. I’d rather churn out the “popular” content then continue to put so much effort into projects.
My plan is basically to start putting just a little less effort into projects and get then out sooner. Expect a considerable increase in activity over the next few weeks.
Hopefully, this will attract a little more interest.
And yes, This includes our mod projects. As far as I am concerned the original CL is now finished. We’re going to focus on CLS now and get that done quickly so we can start work on CL2 and the other mods I have planed.
Videos will also be ramped up a bit more quickly. Expect one within the next few days… by the end of the day tomorrow if I can edit it that quickly.
UPDATE:
Ncevy Sbbyf!
It didn’t really occur to me when I first heard his name. I was at work when the news programs that recycle every hour were playing in the background. They mostly spoke of his time on I Spy with Bill Cosby.
But he played a much more interesting role for gamers, particularly for fans of the Half-Life series.
Robert Culp, the voice of Doctor Breen, passed away yesterday at the age of 79. He apparently fell and struck his head outside his home.
Our best wishes are with his family. He will be missed in the computer game and 3D entertainment world as well as the television and film industry.
Here’s the idmb page with a list of his extensive roles.
Syrus Edit: The problem has been fixed. No worries, unless you started re-inviting your old friend’s list (As I did.) They’ll have to re-accept your invitation.
This is just a quick message regarding the current issue with Steam and your friends list. There is currently a wide-spread issue with Steam’s friends system.
Not much is known at this time, but there was some sort of “update” for some of us earlier today. If that is related or not is yet to be seen.
More importantly at this time, it appears that, for most of you, your friends list data is still intact. It is simply not displayed. AS for the rest of us that have lost data, only time will tell.
There are already two topics about this… both very lengthy… on the Steam forums. And the techies are supposedly already on the case.

As a point of fact, there are actually a number of locked threads on the steam forums related to this topic. Only the first one above is being kept open… so I suggest reading that one.
Personally, I will be waiting to make any changes or re-additions to my friends list until more of this matter is properly explored. In the mean time, feel free to talk about the issue and what you plan to do in this thread on our forums.
Update:
The Friends Lists started returning sometime after 3:30 pm PST. However, this is not an instantaneous process and will take some time for everyone to be restored.
And if you still don’t see your friends list, restart steam and see if that helps.
I have just replied to an email submission that apparently believed our site to be a publishing business. And I must say, this is not the first time that this has happened.
The first time was a guy named Gerardo Gonzalez, that wanted to apply for a job as a comic artist. Of course, that required a simple explanation, and he was friendly about the incident.
In fact, he allowed us to post his sample comic as long as we included a link to his email address such that he would gain some additional exposure as an artist. You can still read that comic on the Comic page or by clicking here.
Anyway, this is an important point to address as once again, we seem to have been confused with a serious “Real” comic book company… again.
BWL Development is a fan site. A fun website that hosts web comics, art, creative writing, videos, machinima, and other creativity. We are a free site and do not sell anything at this time. Eventually, I would love to sell some T-Shirts, printed versions of my original comics [fan comics and game comics would still be free], and even some of my planned novels.
However, at this time, we have nothing for sale and do not actually publish comic books or anything for that matter. We are NOT a company.
Some day, we may actually be a company, but not now or any time really soon. I’m sorry for any confusion we may cause in this regard. We do take our projects VERY seriously and are trying to be as organized and company-like as we can.
We want to be professional as developers, but we are a creative community and fan website and not a business. Thank you for thinking of us in such a capacity though and for visiting our site.
